How many guests can you accomodate?

The main house has 3 bedrooms and sleeps up to 7 (1 King, 1 Queen, 3 Twins). The detached bunkhouse has an additional 4 Twin beds. We do limit bookings to 10 because we are on a quiet dead end road and also need to be mindful of the septic system.

How much will it cost?

Rates vary by season and day of the week. When you click “book now” you can enter your preferred dates to see the daily rate and overall cost of your stay. There is a base rate based on time of year which includes up to 4 guests. Additional guests are $35 per guest per night. We do not charge a cleaning fee.

What is included in a Backpacking basecamp retreat?

These will be highly customized. The foundation of this package includes one night before your backpacking adventure, and one night after. Vehicles can be left on property during your hike. We can also provide meal kits and guidance for your hike. The most popular backpacking trail in the area is the Timberline Trail.

Can the river be accessed from the property?

The Sandy River flows about 40–50 feet below the cabin. A private trail leads to the river, but it is steep and can have loose dirt and rocks. Because of the terrain, the trail is not suitable for everyone.

Fortunately, even if you never make the hike down, you'll still enjoy one of the property's best features: the constant sound of the Sandy River flowing below. The river can also be seen from several areas around the cabin, creating a peaceful backdrop throughout your stay.

For guests who feel comfortable navigating the trail (at their own risk), a small, secluded beach offers a peaceful place to relax beside the river. During the winter months, however, the beach is often underwater due to higher river levels.

Is the kitchen fully stocked?

Yes! The kitchen includes a coffee/tea station with 14 cup coffee maker, Nespresso machine, grinder, and kettle. You will also be able to use an instant pot and/or air fryer in addition to the regular oven and electric stovetop. All dishes, glassware, and silverware have been chosen carefully and with the highest quality and experience in mind.

Can I do my laundry on site?

Absolutely! The main house includes a large and efficient washer and dryer set and you are welcome to use the laundry soap provided.

Can we make a fire?

Yes, depending on the time of year. When permitted, a fire really enhances the coziness of the cabin - especially in the winter. Wood and fire starter will be available for use on site. Please do not touch the flu, and remove ash if it builds up after multiple uses using the tools provided. The stove gets very hot to the touch, so please use with caution and do not leave unattended if flames are still present. We will notify you prior to your stay if you will not be permitted to have a fire due to dry weather and fire danger.

Is there a grill I can use?

Yes! There is a basic charcoal Weber grill, a propane flat top, and a Napoleon smoker available for you to use, but we do not supply the charcoal or propane. Please bring some and enjoy!

What is the seating capacity?

Inside the main cabin there are several seating areas (from multiple couches, to wingback chairs, to large bean bag chairs!). There is a dining table that seats 6. Outside, under the gazebo, there are two picnic style tables that seat up to 12 total. The back deck has 2 rocking chairs and a small table, as well as a bar height table (connected to the deck railing) and 3 barstools.

Can I host a party?

The property is located on a small dead-end gravel road. Most of the neighbors live there full time and it's a very quiet, peaceful community. No loud/late night parties are permitted. That said, there is still plenty of space to spread out and spend time outside in a park like setting. Lots of room for yard games, small retreats, elopements or even photo shoots! We even have a DIY "bucket golf" course set up and wiffle balls and clubs you can use. Please contact us prior to booking to ensure your event will be a good fit for the space.

Are kids and pets allowed?

2 house trained and well behaved pets are allowed per stay for a $50 fee per pet We ask you do not leave your furry friend inside unattended, unless crated, and that you pick up after them. We also request that you do not allow them on the furniture. Kids are welcome, and we do have one pack-and-play that you can use while staying at the cabin. However, please note that we have NOT childproofed the home and the wood-burning stove gets very hot and not recommended with toddlers. Children and pets should be supervised at all times near the river, as the slope is steep and not fenced.
